interim tally

today with a focus on the external camino. keeping it light. someday a tally for the internal one will follow (or not - i’ll see).

my camino commenced on april 29 from saint jean pied de port. tomorrow it will have been four weeks that i left berlin. so far i have walked a total of 594,8 km in roughly 146 hours, a total ascent of 9,757 m. according to my watch, there were 42,307 calories burnt (not sure whether this is on top of the base consumption? also not sure whether it is a lot or not? any experts out there?).

there were 1 paxaran (en pais vasco), 3 copas de vino, 1 vermus. so far. today is sunday, so another copa de vino will go on the list. ah, and not to forget, hectolitres of water and a few lemonades.

food-wise - too much to list here.

so when is enough enough? i have this goal of either stopping at 999 km or of surpassing 1,000 km. either way, i will continue to santiago de compostela and then to the coast and back to santiago. that will do. or not. many caminos out there.

also not enough it is for the two oldest pilgrims encountered so far. you all know paul de suiza already, now we have his amigo de españa who is four years older at now 84. officially, the oldest person i have ever met on caminos (at the time of meeting them - there was this italian guy four years ago at the age of then 82).
